Introducing ResQNet: An AI-Powered Emergency App

The Vision for ResQNet

In emergencies, every second counts. In many regions, unreliable internet can turn a small incident into a life-threatening situation.

That’s why we are building ResQNet—an AI-powered, offline-first mobile emergency app designed specifically for areas with limited connectivity, low access to responders, and varying levels of digital literacy.

Our goal is simple: make life-saving help available, even without a network.

ResQNet empowers everyday people to respond effectively in emergencies and connects communities with the help they need, when they need it most.

🚨 Core Features

  • 🧠 AI-Powered Guidance
Smart, step-by-step instructions for handling medical, fire, or accident-related emergencies, available in voice or text and multiple local languages.

  • 📴 Offline First
Designed to function even without mobile data. Whether you’re in a rural town or a network outage, ResQNet stays functional.

  • 📍 Location Services
Uses GPS to help emergency contacts find you. Send preset SOS messages with your location with a single tap.

  • 🔊 Voice Commands
Use your voice to activate emergency actions when you can’t touch your phone.

  • 📘 First Aid & Safety Library
An offline library of medical and safety tips curated by health experts and emergency professionals.

🔧 How It Works

ResQNet is powered by lightweight on-device AI models that analyze your inputs (voice, button press) and deliver emergency instructions without needing the cloud. The app uses local caching to save key content and syncs data only when a connection becomes available.

🛠 Development Roadmap

We began development in May 2025 under the SouMed AI Lab.

  • 🧪 Prototype Testing (Jul–Aug 2025): Private testing with selected users in urban and rural areas.
  • 🔁 Feedback & Iteration (Aug–Sep 2025): Improve features based on real-world tests.
  • 🚀 Public Launch (Beta) (Oct 2025): Open beta available on Android for broader access.
  • 🌍 Community Rollout (Nov–Dec 2025): Partnerships with local organizations and awareness campaigns.

We envision ResQNet becoming a trusted emergency companion across the globe in areas facing similar infrastructure challenges.
