At SouMed Technologies, we believe that nurturing young talent is the key to a thriving digital future. Our School Mentorship Program is a core part of this mission, designed to equip high school students with the foundational skills and confidence they need to pursue careers in technology.
Our latest cohort brought together 25 ambitious students for an intensive, hands-on learning experience that went beyond the textbook.
Program Goals & Curriculum
The program was structured to provide a holistic introduction to the world of technology. Our primary goals were to:
- Demystify technology and make it accessible to beginners.
- Build practical skills through hands-on projects.
- Inspire students to see themselves as future innovators and problem-solvers.
Curriculum Highlights:
- Introduction to Web Development: Students learned the basics of HTML and CSS, building their very first simple websites from scratch.
- Cybersecurity Fundamentals: We covered the essentials of online safety, teaching students how to identify phishing scams, create strong passwords, and protect their digital footprint.
- Digital Literacy: Training on essential tools like Google Workspace and best practices for online research and communication.

Outcomes and Future Plans
The program concluded with a showcase where students presented their final projects to peers and mentors. The results were inspiring, with every participant successfully creating a personal website portfolio.
Building on this success, we are excited to announce our plans to:
- Expand the program to include more schools.
- Introduce new modules on basic graphic design and AI literacy.
- Create a "Phase Two" for returning students who wish to dive deeper into programming.
